Well, I suppose these photos of my cute little nephew are being posted a little late. These were taken a few days before Christmas on the carousel in downtown Seattle. I haven't gotten around to looking at them until today. Sorry the posts have been few and far between. My husband and I are searching for a new house to buy- so between that, the winter colds, and life, things have been busy! Check out Quinn:

a little tilt shift lens fun...
I rented a canon tilt shift lens for the weekend to see if I wanted to buy one. I had a lot of fun experimenting with it, but I can't decide if I want to make the purchase. I think the lens is a little too slow to use during a wedding. (I tried it out at a wedding on Saturday) However, I think it might be fun to make some art with. Here is my favorite shot of the day.

National Geographic Traveler!
Okay, I have to brag a little bit. I won the "merit award" in a National Geographic Traveler contest. I entered the contest some time ago...I had almost forgotten about it. There were 27,000 entries, and somehow I placed in the top ten! What an honor! One of my biggest dreams as a photographer was to get published in National Geographic- and I feel so lucky to have done it. Although it would of been nice if it was a paid job. Maybe they will hire me as a staff photographer now. ;)
The photograph was taken in September 2006 in Cusco, Peru. I have been lucky enough to go 3 times thanks to my wonderful Mom who goes every year. Thanks Mom!
